Abbatt Academy Concierge Training: A Success Story
Abbatt Academy provides free concierge training to all candidates who successfully register for our Concierge positions. Below is the story of Liz and how the Academy helped her.
Elizabeth (Liz) came to Abbatt seeking advice on how we could help to pave a change in her career and with her keen to learn more about the role of a Concierge we registered her with Abbatt Academy.
Prior to registering with Abbatt, Liz had been working in Events & Security, putting her SIA License and extensive customer service experience to use. She had, however, wanted to step into the role of a Residential Concierge for some time, when she stumbled across one of our Concierge adverts. She says “I wasn’t sure how to make the transition, it wasn’t clear for me, but having been introduced to Abbatt and having met with one of your Resourcer’s, I was reassured that my previous experience was more than sufficient. I was registered for the Academy for the following week and felt confident with what Abbatt had in store for me”.
With Liz’s references received within just a couple of days, her training commenced. Reflecting on the day of training, she speaks highly our Learning & Development Manager, explaining “she gives a bit and wants you to give a bit. She laughs when she should, she probes when she should, and she understands where you are at and what you need help with. It was very clear that she understood the role of a Concierge and what different sites expect”. The chance to have some interaction with candidates in similar positions and bounce off each other’s experiences was also of value to Liz.
Speaking of life ‘post-Academy’, Liz excitedly tells us “this is a new challenge, it’s something different and I’ve learnt so much”. When asked if she would recommend the course, she was quick to remind us, “Yes! I’ve referred 3 people so far!” We like to think these recommendations are not only the result of the training but also the level of support we give to our candidates throughout their journeys with us. As Liz kindly points out, based on her own experiences with Abbatt and the clients she has worked with, she has seen first-hand our ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with candidates and clients alike.
